Id go with Universe tonight. I think he is heading in the right direction, notwithsanding his mistakes against Rags

translation- get bryz back in there so he doesn't marinate in those "two awful goals" and pray that he won't choke again. at some point, we need to see whether he can leave those behind. based on his plyoff performances and the increased scrutiny here, I'm starting to think the spotlight is something he's not comfy w/.

It's too bad because up until that Gaborik goal I thought Bryz was actually playing fantastic. I was pumped and then my heart broke and I needed beers.

This would be my reaction if the Flyers were to trade for Luke Schenn.

It would depend on what they gave up for him for me. Schenn is a nice player.

speaking of which, I was amazed to read on ESPN: Gomez's last goal was February 5, 2011. Gee I feel so bad for the poor Habs.

He's not (yet) actually. He's not even good enough to play on the Leafs PK anymore. Which has been soaring since they removed him from it.

same here. I'm starting to think he'd rather be the BMOC in CLB than deal w/ this mkt. it might really be that he'll need a yr to adjust and this is his washout season.

I heard he played good last night, the previous handful of games not so much.

He is locked up for quite some time, I'd be worried about taking on that type of contract for a question mark which I believe he still is.

Especially for the price to acquire him.

I want to believe in Bryz.

He's like Lucy and we are like Charlie Brown right now, just as we are about to kick the ball he pulls it away.

Jon Papelbon is like PigPen, his arm is filthy .

Yes, actually he is. He's 22 years old. It's not uncommon for a young defenseman to have ups and downs in his development. Bob McKenzie wrote yesterday that Schenn is playing well. He's a solid young defenseman who is in the top 4 on his team in PK icetime. And led the team in PK icetime in 10/11 as a 21 year old player.

Bryzgalov didn't seem to be uncomfortable with the spotlight when the 24/7 cameras were around.

I would not be happy with a JVR for Schenn deal, I would understand the thought process in making the deal I just don't know if Luke Schenn and the question marks about him is the right return.

3rd worst PK in the NHL last year, and 2nd worst PK this year.

I'm not sure being among the leaders of a terrible PK unit is a good thing.

(also, I put "yet" in my last post. He's not good yet.)

ive been posting that if JVR is involved, a dynamic puck mover has to be coming back, not a def dman w/ limited off ability. schenn's prob gonna be a nice 2nd pairing compliment to a rushing puck mover, but right now he's still developing.
